Carmel-By-The-Sea - Part 2

After taking in Carmel Beach and exploring the village we stopped in one of the many tasting rooms
for a taste of superb California wine.

We tried the Scheid tasting room and fell in love with the Syrah!

The staff were very friendly and didn't give us a hard sell.
It was really all about experiencing the wine.
After travelling so much through Europe the past few years
I was really surprised by the California reds. Quite tasty.
Not the whites so much! Just my personal preference though.

When we were buying bags and bags of sweets at the aptly named Cottage of Sweets
(see the pictures here)

the nice lady recommended we have lunch at the Cottage.
She said they had the best artichoke soup and that was
one thing on my list to try.

We got the table by the fire.

Roast Beef sandwich.

The artichoke soup! It was very good.

So full of wine and food we wondered around Carmel Village and stumbled
in (not literally) to the Hat Shop.

What a fun place! We spent a good two hours just playing and trying on hats.

This one is so Steam Punk.

So Lady Sybil from Downton Abby.

So ??? Not sure!

The staff here were so much fun. They are all about playing around and trying on hats
and having a good time. If you are ever in Carmel go there.
We walked out with two hats and a nice bag.
